Turkish Airlines takes delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8

On August 17, 2018 Turkish Airlines took possession its first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 (TC-LCA).

TC-LCA departed Boeing Field in Seattle (top) as flight TK6830 bound for Keflavik (Reykjavik) in Iceland and landed in Istanbul the following day.

In 2013 Turkish Airlines finalized a firm order for 40 737 MAX 8s, 10 737 MAX 9s and 20 Next-Generation 737-800 jets. The order, originally announced as a commitment in April 2013, also included options for an additional 25 737 MAX 8s and is the largest Boeing order by value in Turkish Airlines’ history.

Seattle and the Pacific Northwest has been suffering lately with poor air quality due to extensive forest fires in the area.
