Welcome Air stops flying, its last Dornier 328 is sold

Welcome Air (Innsbruck) operated its last flight on December 26, 2017. The airline has not yet issued an official statement on its website.

The last flight operated between Antwerp and the Innsbruck base. As a result, the last aircraft, Dornier 328-100 OE-LIR (above) was sold.

At its peak, the charter airline operated five Dornier 328s.

Welcome Air was also the parent company of Tyrol Air Ambulance.

The airline was founded on June 14, 1995. Scheduled operations began on May 22, 2000.

The company took a hit in February 2015 when Austrian Airlines announced it would terminate the agreement with Welcome Air to operate the Vienna – Linz route for Austrian. As a result the fleet was reduced.
